Challenges and Opportunities Facing Cleaning Businesses

During the recession, the cleaning industry took a downturn, and many businesses cut back on cleaning services. However, as the U.S. economy has steadily improved in recent years, the commercial and industrial cleaning industry has bounced back. A 2018 market report by the International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA) and the American Association of Cleaning Equipment Manufacturers (AACEM) shows that as the U.S. economy continues to grow in the coming years, commercial growth will also continue to improve, providing new opportunities for commercial and industrial cleaning businesses. In fact, the global commercial cleaning industry is expected to reach $74.3 million by 2022.

2022 Building Service Contractor Benchmarking Survey Report Is Out!

A question asked every year reveals BSCs still list restrooms as the top cause of customer complaints; 35% of survey respondents listed it as their No. 1 customer complaint, compared to 42% in 2021 and 44% in 2020. However, in 2022 hard floor surfaces are close behind in terms of customer complaints, rising to 27% compared to 15% in 2021 and 13% in 2020.

ARCSI Announces Results of 2022 Residential Cleaning Benchmarking Study

The Association of Residential Cleaning Services International (ARCSI), a Division of ISSA, recently announced the results of its annual Residential Cleaning Benchmark Study.

The study, initiated by ARCSI and conducted by Maximum Performance Group LLC, identified challenges and trends facing residential cleaning service companies.
